Overseeding

Overseeding

When the lawn is degraded, yellowed or thinned out, the action of decompaction, drilling and reloading can also be accompanied by the addition of new seed, which is spread on the loose ground and in the holes caused by the coring machines. In this case we speak of regeneration or overseeding, that is a sowing with possible fertilization, to renew and reinforce the turf. Compared to the complete resurfacing of the turf, regeneration has much lower costs. The best times to do it are the same as for sowing, that is March-April or September. In the case of football fields, action is often taken at the end of the championship, that is, at the end of May-beginning of June: in that case, more attention must be paid to the irrigation aspect.
